LGBT relationships are illegal in 72 countries

 

While LGBT rights have made considerable progress in some parts of the world, a surprising number of countries still punish same-sex relationships with life imprisonment or even death.

Out of 195 countries in the world, only 28 have marriage equality

There is no same-sex marriage in Asia or the Middle East, and South Africa is the only country in Africa to have legalised it. In Europe, the legal status of same-sex marriage is mixed, and ore than half of European Union members have not legalised it.

There is mounting evidence to suggest that there is no differences in well-being between children raised by same-sex couples and those raised by heterosexual couples.
